Anthems In Ashes is a four piece hard rock band brought together by their love of music that is both heavy and high energy. While they are primarily hard rock, they have influences of melodic rock and heavy metal. Their crushing riffs and infectious groove are complimented by Harley’s vocals that are equal parts aggressive and soulful.
In just over 3 years, this Toronto band has made their rounds at established music venues in the city and competed in music festivals such as Canadian Music Week, The Bout, and Indie Week Canada -where they won best act at their venue. They also won the Jack Daniels Supporting Act Competition which helped them record their debut EP “Burn It Down” with Juno Award Winning Producer Siegfried Meier at Beach Road Studios. It was released August 2017, along with the music video for their single “Stealing Names.” In the words of Metal Gods TV: “With more beef than a field full of cows, ‘Stealing Names’ is a huge slab of monstrously heavy riffs.” The EP was met by rave reviews from Fireworks Magazine, Metal Gods TV, Decibel Geek, Grimm, Black Pheonix Rising and I’m Music Magazine. Their songs have been featured on 94.9 The Rock, Metal Mayhem Radio, Amherst Radio and Metal Devastation Radio.
Recently, AIA have been busy working on new material. They released their second music video for “Her Fire” which I’m Music Magazine described by saying: “Once the 1:00 mark hits, Harley and the rest of Anthems In Ashes blindside you with heavy guitars, bass, drums, and that voice! The comparisons to early In This Moment are right on the money, however there is also hints of swagger mixed in with the all-out brutality.”
Their notoriously energetic live shows do not disappoint and they can’t wait to see where they will take it next.
